Committed to people with disabilities at bauMax
For over 20 years bauMax has been committed to helping people with disabilities. A company-wide programme helps overcome inhibitons and fears concerning disabled people. The program is aimed at recognising people with disabilites as equal members of our society and offering them equal opportunities.
The programm includes three areas of focus:
1) Every bauMax location in all nine countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey) works with a regional disabled initiative or organisation.
2) This partnership leads to joint activities such as the sale of products produces in the workshops, festivals and sporting events.
In addition, services such as the maintenance and care of parking lots and green spaces or shelf maintenance are contracted out to social institutions.
3) In addition, bauMax offers internships and employment opportunities to people with disabilities. More than 250 employees are integrated in the bauMax teams internationally.
Since 2007 bauMax has also presented an internal distiction called the "Humanity Award". It is bestowed in recognition of exceptional activities and initiatives implemented in the scope of the bauMax-Humanity Programme.
