The collection of international contemporary art owned by Agnes und Karlheinz Essl with over 7,000 works of art offers a tremendous look at the art of the 20th and early 21st centuries. The collection, which has had an international orientation since the 1990's, ranges from Art Informel to Viennese Actionism and the pluralism in style and media of the present day. It also includes an unparalleled documentation of post-1945 Austrian painting and places it in an international context.
