Selection of Prizewinners
The selection of the Essl Social Prize winners will be made by the foundation's Board of Directors on the basis of the nominations (and free of any political or other influence).
The foundation's Board of Directors is obliged to accept the Selection Committee's proposal.
Every year one to three prizewinners will be distinguished, who shall receive a total sum of EUR 1 million.
Selection Committee
The Selection Committee is composed of:
Benefactors Martin and Gerda Essl, or after they are deceased, the Chairperson of the Family Advisory Board, as well as the most recent winners of the Essl Social Prize, but no more than a maximum of six persons.
