Sinnstifter was founded in 2010 by six Austrian foundations to support social projects within Austria . Their common goal is to support social initiatives and / or innovation. Not only are financial resources provided, but the foundations and their staff provide hands-on support and advice, offering expertise and importantly, their networks. The selected projects are innovative and scalable. In Austria, there are negative connotations associated with foundations which is something that Sinnstifter is actively trying to counteract, since many foundations do much good work and with greater support, could do even more.
