bauMax Human Program

Committed to people with disabilities at bauMax

For over 20 years bauMax has been committed to helping people with disabilities. An enterprise-wide program helps to overcome inhibitions and reserves about the disabled. The program is about recognizing people with disabilities as equal members of our society and offering them equal opportunities. The program has three focal points:

1) Every bauMax outlet in all eight countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria) works with a regional disabled initiative or organization.

2) This partnership leads to joint activities such as selling products made in the workshops or holding festivals and sporting events. In addition, services such as the maintenance and care of parking lots and green spaces or shelf restocking are contracted out to social services and welfare institutions.

3) In addition, bauMax offers jobs and internships to people with disabilities. More than 200 employees are working at bauMax international.

Since 2007 bauMax has been awarding an intern enterprise prize dubbed the Human Award, which is bestowed in recognition of special activities and initiatives implemented as part of the bauMax-Human Program.
